Bailey and Caleb had an unforgettable, classic wedding. The very first time I met with these cuties Bailey told me how much she liked a classic style and that’s why she was drawn to my work and my heart fluttered just a little bit. Maybe it’s that I’m an old lady, but I feel strongly that the photographic art I produce should be beautiful in 50 years. And Dresser Mansion and Holy Family are some of my absolute favorite places to photograph! Dresser was decorated floor to ceiling in details: custom pillows, roses and hydrangeas everywhere, beautiful stationery, and even the soap in the bathroom was monogrammed!
Bailey and Caleb got married in the morning. I love that daytime weddings are making a comeback (although it feels super weird to leave a wedding in daylight). It tells me that brides and grooms are feeling more comfortable having the wedding that they want. This was an 11am wedding and they served brunch. Who doesn’t love brunch?! Brides, if you’re not a big dancer you don’t have to have dancing. If you love breakfast but want an evening wedding, serve brinner. Don’t want bridesmaids? No problem. This is your wedding. Do what you want. Sorry. Ranting again. All that to say that I’m so proud of my brides who are unashamedly having the wedding of their dreams and not a cookie cutter event.
These two are high school sweethearts – and their moms were even acquainted before they were born. It’s one of those stories that’s made for a movie. At 9 years old Bailey was infatuated with a cute little boy and now he’s her husband. They started their relationship as freshmen in high school and stayed together all through high school and college. Most of us aren’t fortunate enough to meet our spouse so young and it’s refreshing to hear such a sweet story.
Thank you for letting me be a part of your day, Bailey and Caleb. It was a beautiful wedding and I’ve loved getting to know y’all!
