A Horrible Wedding…

At the end of February I had the unfortunate opportunity to go to Key West, FL with Birdsong Photography to photograph Dan and Cherrie’s wedding. It was awful. A) The Birdsongs let me and Paddycakes stay with them in a great condo on the water for 5 glorious days. B) Dan and Cherrie and their families treated us all (including Paddy) to the royal treatment the whole time. We just had to go with them on a catamaran on the Atlantic for a sunset cruise for their rehearsal. They forced Patrick to come to the wedding and enjoy the delicious meal and adult beverages. Man. I’m telling you… it was horrible!! You should be catching just a hint of sarcasm at this point. It was an incredible wedding and Dan and Cherrie were too much fun to be around and photograph. Thank you 100 times over to the Birdsongs for thinking of me when they needed an extra photographer. You guys are great!! I was going a little nuts with using the natural beauty of the Keys to photograph some of the details. It was rough, I tell ya!

Yes folks, it was a 2 dress wedding
This shot is just special to me… and I hope it is to Cherrie too. I know it’s nothing special photographically, but being faced with an ailing grandmother right now I realize the importance of pictures like this.
I was digging the yellow walls at this resort! Isn’t Cherrie just a doll?
Right after the ceremony… love the emotion of this one!
90 miles to Cuba!! Patrick has always wanted to go to Cuba. He was tempted to just grab a kayak and see how far he could make it. I discouraged that kind of behavior.
Another “horrible” part of this wedding was that they sent all their wedding guest on a tour of the island after the ceremony while the wedding party went out for an hour on a trolley to explore the island and take pictures. How fabulous is that?!
Across from Earnest Hemingway’s home.
So delish!!
This was totally Brett’s idea… I just thought it was super cute so I’m sharing!
I do jumping shots a lot… but these 2 on the end win the prize for best jump I’ve seen!
As you can see… everyone had a great time at the reception!

That chick is gorgeous! My first thought was that she reminded me of Thandie Newton. Hot. Sorry, but it's true. :)
