A new kid in town

Recently my bff Rachelle and her husband adopted a little boy. I was a bit surprised at their decision to adopt so early on in their marriage but their baby is absolutely precious. …and furry. This is Indy and isn’t he a cutey? They dropped by for awhile the other day so I could convince Patrick to get me one too, err… I mean so I could play with the pup. And being the good auntie that I am I couldn’t resist taking a few quick shots of him.

My point in posting these snapshots is to remind everyone that pets are a great add in for portraits. Whether it be family, engagement, children or senior pictures its always fun to include the family pet. Most people tell me that their animals won’t behave, but really that’s rarely the case. I’m only slightly embarrassed to tell you that at one point I had a decent little gig photographing, very frequently, in a Doggy Day Spa. (yes, I said day spa) I was even once featured on the local news photographing a dog. And I’m not gonna lie… I’m a great dog photographer. It’s an odd thing to pride myself in, isn’t it? So bring your pooch to the session and I’ll make a total idiot of myself getting the dog’s attention. I guarantee you’ll be entertained!
