James’ 1st Birthday – Tulsa Family Photographer

I can’t believe this little baby is already 1 years old! I remember when he was a tiny little thing asleep in a basket. Heck, I remember he was still in his Mama’s tummy. When Amanda approached me about documenting James’ party I jumped at the chance. She really throws a great party! Despite it being horribly hot a bit warm, it was a great afternoon. Luckily they all had a pool to play in to stay cool. The whale theme was adorable! You should have seen the invitation! It was perfect and oh so cute!!Seriously. How cute is he?? He really gets cuter and cuter every time I see him. So they put James infront of the cake, everyone starts singinig, as soon as he’s free to smash himself into the cake he gets nervous, kicks it over, and has a total meltdown. Poor kid. I hate being sung to as well. Luckily, Mama was there to make it all better. Between Amanda and Ben they got him settled down and more into the cake. I mean, look at him, I don’t think he turns down a lot of cake. And then his own personal whale pool was there to cool him off after being covered in lovely icing. He’s quite a swimmer!My favorite detail of the day. Cute, right?

Delana & Johnny: Married – Oklahoma City Wedding Photographer

Delana and I go back. Way way back. When my family first moved to Tulsa her family let my crazy family move in next door to them (they were our landlords!) while we were waiting to sell our home in Texas. We also went to church together. We saw a lot of eachother. We played a lot of cards, drank a whole lot of Dr. Pepper and pulled some odd antics. We were… weird. In the meantime we became great friends and remained that way. Oh the stories we can tell about eachother. There’s a few that come to mind that seriously crack me up, but you really had to be there. Anywhoosie! Delana got married in June and I was the photographer. Delana and Johnny have been dating for approximately a billion years so it was about time! I actually got to be there when he proposed and it was perfect and sweet.

Its been so much fun being around watching ‘Lana plan her big day and it turned out perfectly. The wedding was held in Oklahoma City and we were able to drive over to Bricktown for their portrait session. And Dude. It was hot. But the whole wedding party were total champs about it and we had a blast. Being at the wedding was a blast cause I got to see lots of old friends. And fun fact! April (the world’s greatest second shooter) and Delana are cousin-in-laws. So April knew everyone too!

This could be my favorite bride and bridesmaid/bride and sisters shot EVER. I love these girls!!So… Johnny couldn’t keep his eyes off his woman that day!! That’s the face of a man head over heels!!April shot this one and I love it! D’s expression is so fun!

Can you even handle this sauciness?? More of April’s shots above and below. She’s all about the details. The bouquet was done by the fabulous Bridal Garden by Lindi. Her work is flawless!

Johnny is an Air Force guy. So instead of throwing birdseed or blowing bubbles they had all their guests make paper airplanes to throw. I love it that after 9 years shooting weddings I’m still seeing new ideas!

Taylor & Mike: Engaged – Tulsa Engagement Pictures

Taylor and Mike are getting married this November in someplace tropical and wonderful. Despite my begging, crying and pleading suggestion to hire us to shoot their wedding, they decided to just stick with an engagement session. And, of course, I’m really glad they did. Taylor is total sweetheart and you can tell how crazy Mike is about her. If I recall our first meeting, Taylor told me that she wasn’t great infront of a camera. To which now I can laugh hysterically at. She was a pro. In fact, they both were. I love so many of their pictures but I think these are my favoritest. At least, they are at this moment. Ask me again tomorrow.Favorite! I can see this as a giant wall portrait in their house! Love it.

You must:
Be able to organize
Be highly organized yourself
Be outgoing and super friendly
Know your way around a computer
Be comfortable on the phone
Be comfortable working out of my home
NOT be allergic to cats, even a little… Cause mine will take a tiny allergy and make you miserable. They’re evil.

It would be nice if you have a little Photoshop experience.

The hours are weekdays and not evenings.

Brittany – Tulsa Senior Pictures

I had a couple last minute 2010 seniors right before school ended and Brittany was one of them. Brittany brought lots of great outfits and so we spent her whole session wondering around downtown shooting at some great locations. She also brought her Mom and sisters who were equally great. Sometimes people bring family members and I wonder why because they just seem to argue and be annoyed with eachother. But the ladies in this family were fabulous! And while we’re talking about Senior pictures now is a great time to have them taken before we get too insanely busy. I mean… more insanely busy. And October would be that time. So make your senior appointment ASAP!!

Sabrina, Dave & Jack – Tulsa Family Photographer

So I know Sab follows my blog super close so I’m sure she’s shocked right now seeing her name on the header. Cause we did the pics quite awhile ago. But like I said, I just want to show off all the fun stuff I’ve been up to. We actually did the shoot as a family shoot for Sabrina’s grandma for a gift. So we did the full family pic with Grandma & Grandpa, Aunt Cindy, Mama Pam, Baby Cakes and of course Sabrina, Jack and Dave. It was also time for Jack’s 9 month pictures, so we were able to knock that out at the same time. Jack is beautiful. He has the longest eyelashes I’ve ever seen on a baby and he’s totally squeezable. Love this family and I’m so glad to have them as friends! Love you Sab!

Taylor’s Bridal Portraits – Tulsa Bridal Portraits

Taylor loves to be photographed. And luckily, I love to photograph her! Her sister and mama came along for the bridal session and we all had a great time laughing and chatting about her wedding. Tay had two wedding dresses so I got to shoot her in both of them. The last picture I have on here of Taylor, in my opinion, is SO her! And what girl doesn’t love to twirl? Remember when you were a little girl and you judged how “good” a dress was by how well it twirled? I remember I had a Christmas dress (which my Mom made, of course!) and it twirled so far! I wonder if Mom could whip me out another dress just for twirling. I’m just sayin. My point being, I don’t see why we have to stop twirling just because we’re grown ups. And I think a wedding dress is as good an opportunity to twirl than any.

…I wonder how many times I used the word Twirl in that blog?

Amber & Russell: Engaged – Tulsa Wedding Photographer

I’m really determined to blog all of these fun shoots I’ve been doing. And the back log is getting increasingly longer. There’s so many great weddings that I gotta post too! Ah if I could only catch up! I’m really dying to post Amber’s bridal session, but alas, that must wait till after her wedding in August. I seriously love all my clients and I feel like I say the same things about them over and over. But really, they’re all fun and I have a blast shooting them. Amber and Russell are no exception. They’re just this laid back, super friendly couple that you feel like you can be yourself around. Which makes them just lovely to have as clients!! Can’t wait till their wedding!

Kelsey & Josh: Engaged – Tulsa Engagement Photographer

Kelsey and Josh are a great couple. They’re both the biggest sweethearts in the world and they have these funny and quirky personalities that are totally charming. I had actually met Kelsey a few years ago when I was working for my friend Lisa, who did her senior pictures. Lucky for me, Lisa doesn’t shoot weddings! So when they got engaged she sent them my way. So for their session we hit Philbrook and then ran over to a field for a different look. I think the shots we got suit them so well!

Can you believe their eyes?! They’re gonna have beautiful babies!

Little note about balloons: If you’re in a field of tall (sharp) grass, holding a bouquet of balloons, its a good idea to NOT do a jumping shot. As soon as Kels bent down to take a leap all but one of the balloons popped. Luckily we had got some fun pictures with them before they popped.

Calista’s Maternity Session – Tulsa Maternity Photography

In honor of her 31st 29th birthday tomorrow, I thought I’d post my sister’s maternity session. I’m allowed (or rather, I’m allowing myself) to talk about her age because she looks about 20. I wanted to do something a bit different for this session. Not many women can be 8 months pregnant and still look this good in a bikini. Sickening right? But she found the perfect bikini and the perfect Esther Williams style swim cap and we headed to the lake. I’d really love an actual beach, but this is Oklahoma. And we have lakes. So ya work with what ya got. Enjoy the pics and leave a happy birthday comment for my gorgeous sister!!

We even let Chris come along for a couple quick snaps. We opted to leave my other 2 nephews with our mom. I wasn’t prepared for that kind of stress. Oh and look for some birth pictures in the next month or so. Its okay… its not as gross as it sounds.
