April’s Bridal Session – Tulsa Bridal Pictures

I’m kinda in love with this session. April is a total doll!! She’s funny and sweet and full of spunk. I love spunk. Obviously I don’t very often get permission to post bridal pictures before the wedding. But Jon, her fiance, is the type that won’t peak. So she said it was okay. And its a good thing too… I don’t think I could have waited till July to post these. April brought her mama and her granny to the session. I loved getting to hear stories about April as a little girl spending all day playing dress up. So much fun. I really believe that my job is so important, and I humbly say that I think April will be able to look back at even her bridal session and think of the fun she had with her mom and grandma. Favorite!! This picture deserves to be printed huge. Its my favorite bridal picture of late. Its just so “April”, I mean, in my opinion. Sometimes that dang Oklahoma wind really works to my advantage.

Can we just talk about those shoes? They are so pefectly prissy! I LOVE them. Ya know what’s really sad? When I’m working, cute shoes are rarely an option. And since I work like all the time, I don’t find a lot of reasons to wear prissy shoes. But I do break them out every now and then. What is it about a great pair of heels that makes us feel like a million bucks?? I love being a girl.

Man, I am doing A LOT of bridal portraits lately! I’m lovin’ it!! Bridal portraits are so much fun! If you’re getting married, I highly recommend you doing a session. You’ve probably heard all the logical arguements of why you should get them done, but let’s just break it down to the basics: Its an opportunity to be the princess for an extra day and play in your wedding dress! And who doesn’t want to do that?! Wearing your wedding dress only on your wedding day is way sad. For the first few months after we got married, Paddywack would come home from work and find me vacuuming in my dress. Okay… that’s a lie. We all know I don’t vacuum. But really, I would put it on just to put it on. And to have pictures done it with the hair and the makeup and the whole nineyards? Yes please!
Melissa has such a quiet elegance about her and I feel like it really showed in these images. She brought her Mama and BFF to the session. I love it when you girls bring important people to the sessions and I get the opportunity to get to know them before the wedding day. Makes me feel like part of the family! Melissa and Jason got married this weekend so wedding pictures will follow soon.

Shannon’s Bridal Portraits – Tulsa Wedding Photographer

Now that Shannon’s wedding has passed its safe for me to post some of her bridal session pics! I’m so thrilled to post the wedding pictures, but they must wait. But I will say this, we’ve certainly kicked off our wedding season with a bang. 2 AWESOME weddings in a row! Does it get any better??
Shannon was a stunning bride and was really interested in the mansion look for her bridal pictures. Harweldon was a perfect choice for her! I adore a lace dress. I also a door a sweetheart neckline. So of course I was in love with her dress. She also wanted to try out both a traditional veil and a birdcage veil. Bridal portraits are soooo important! I think Shannon will agree with me on this one. Of course you do your run through with your hair and makeup, but actually getting to be in them for a few hours (and in the dress) it really gives you a much better sense of what you’ll like for your wedding day. And being able to see what you look like… priceless. (for everything else theres MasterCard. hahaha! I crack myself up with my dorkiness!) Enjoy the pics! Wedding pictures to follow soon!

Cassie’s Bridal Portraits – Tulsa Wedding Photographer

Now that Cassie and Rickey’s wedding has passed, I knew I could post her bridal pictures. Rickey is kinda sneaky, so we couldn’t leak any of the pics till after the wedding day. I know her Mama is dying to see wedding pictures… but she’s gonna have to wait till tomorrow when I get a few ready. Sorry Teauna! Cassie was a total Glam bride!! I want to say so much more but I’ll wait till her wedding post. I’ll give all the details then! For this session we split it between Harweldon Mansion and Philbrook. Although it was a little chilly outside… it was a good thing Cassie had her fabulous wrap!

Bridal Session – Tulsa Wedding Photographer

One of my goals this year was to work my “art”. So when I saw this amazing old piano at my friend’s house, and I just had to use it. I immediately pictured a bride in a vintage dress with a birdcage veil. A few days later I was doing a look through of the people following my fan page on Facebook and I ran across a picture of Sarah in her wedding dress. She was the perfect bride. So I begged and pleaded both her to model and Johnny B to let me us his house. They were both very kind and obliged. April Mary with Faccia Bella did her makeup and the whole look was stunning! There’s not a ton of variety in these pictures, but these were my favorites. (in case there’s any confusion, a normal bridal session would have much for variety! )

BTW… John Burch (Johnny B) and his brothers have a pretty rad band called The Earth-Men. They should be releasing a CD before too long. I’ll keep ya updated when its released!

Danielle’s Bridal Portraits – Tulsa, OK

I had such an amazing time photographing Danielle’s bridal session. For one, she brought a whole entourage of fabulous women along with her! They were all a blast. Its also a tradition with Danielle’s sisters to be in the bridal portraits in their bridesmaids dresses. And finally, and what made the session just over the top (other than Danielle’s sparkling, fun personality) was the dress. THE dress. Danielle wore her grandmother’s wedding gown. Its the same gown Danielle’s mother wore for her wedding. Just thinking about it gives me chills! Can you imagine having a dress in your family that is so timeless that its been able to be worn by 3 generations of women?? Now they did make some changes to it for Danielle (it used to have sleeves) but its still very much the same dress. (ya know in 27 Dresses when the sister totally alters the mother’s wedding gown and it doesn’t look like the same dress at all? So not the case in this situation) Anyway, it was just really cool so I wanted to share. But again, I had blast on this session and was thrilled with all the images. I’ll share the wedding day images soon!

Danielle mentioned really wanting a shot with her veil blowing, but I decided with the huge long train she had that we needed to get all sorts of motion going. That dress could really move! Love it!

Miss Hillary’s Bridal Portraits

Hillary is one of those girls you just can’t help but like. She’s a total sweetheart and that, coupled with her Oklahoma accent, makes her just as charming as can be! I’m so looking forward to her and Ryan’s wedding in September. She chose to do her bridal portraits now, before it got too hot outside. Which is a really good idea (hint hint all you August and September brides!) Her Mama, Sister, Niece and Aunt joined us for the session and having them along made it all the more fun. Hillary is blessed with an amazing group of women surrounding her! Oh and did I mention that Hillary is a total knockout?? I’m so blessed with good looking brides! haha!

This image and the next are my favorites of the session. I really love a veil, but boy do I ever love a blusher! I’ll definitely be wearing one at my next wedding! )

AYKM??? LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! This is my new favorite picture of the week! Twirling rocks.

Allison & David – Bride and Groom Shoot

Allison & David are getting married next month in Texas but decided they would like some images of the two to display at their wedding. Luckily they knew Hillary, one of my fabulous brides, and she suggested they give me a call. I’m glad they did! We went out to Philbrook and shot lots of great images and then, on a whim, we decided to run downtown as well. Allison had a reception dress she wanted to be photographed in and we thought it was better suited downtown.

There’s nothing I love more than catching a real moment. If you’ve been to Philbrook you know how much walking there is to do. David suggested he carry Allison. It made for a great shot (especially since we got the yummy light with it!)

um… yep! Such sauciness!

Because she’s finally married…

I can post Erica’s bridal portraits. So I thought I’d start one of at least a few blog posts of Erica and her wedding. And what a wedding it was!! Best wedding ever!! What do you expect from a wedding coordinator but the best? I can’t wait to post those. But while Erica and Russ are chilling on a beach in Belize (how jealous are we??) I thought I’d put up part 1 and 2 of her bridal sessions. The 1st part we went out risking life and limb to get some snow/ice shots. It was just a little cold… and I wasn’t the one in a strapless gown. But of course she was a trooper and we shot very fast and got a some lovely pictures to prove it.

Totally my fave of the first session. If you’ve been in my office you’ve seen this one on a gallery wrap canvas. Its even more gorgeous in print! Of course I think everything looks better on a gallery wrap.

Then about a month ago we went to Philbrook for her “real” bridal session. She’s such a natural in front of the camera. (goodness knows she’s had a bit of practice over the last couple years. I think I’ve photographed her 7 times)

Haley’s Bridal Session

2 posts in 2 days! Things are improving!! Last month we went out and photographed Haley’s bridal session at Philbrook. It was a great session even though we really fought the wind! Haley is one of those sickening people that doesn’t take a bad picture. Not even if she tried! Jim, with Captain Video, was her videographer so he came along and did a video of the session. I thought ya’ll might be interested in seeing that. Stay tuned for her snowy wedding pictures coming soon!

It was really windy! But aren’t these shots just darling? Love those real moments!
