Taylor & Mike: Engaged – Tulsa Engagement Pictures

Taylor and Mike are getting married this November in someplace tropical and wonderful. Despite my begging, crying and pleading suggestion to hire us to shoot their wedding, they decided to just stick with an engagement session. And, of course, I’m really glad they did. Taylor is total sweetheart and you can tell how crazy Mike is about her. If I recall our first meeting, Taylor told me that she wasn’t great infront of a camera. To which now I can laugh hysterically at. She was a pro. In fact, they both were. I love so many of their pictures but I think these are my favoritest. At least, they are at this moment. Ask me again tomorrow.Favorite! I can see this as a giant wall portrait in their house! Love it.

I’m really determined to blog all of these fun shoots I’ve been doing. And the back log is getting increasingly longer. There’s so many great weddings that I gotta post too! Ah if I could only catch up! I’m really dying to post Amber’s bridal session, but alas, that must wait till after her wedding in August. I seriously love all my clients and I feel like I say the same things about them over and over. But really, they’re all fun and I have a blast shooting them. Amber and Russell are no exception. They’re just this laid back, super friendly couple that you feel like you can be yourself around. Which makes them just lovely to have as clients!! Can’t wait till their wedding!

Kelsey & Josh: Engaged – Tulsa Engagement Photographer

Kelsey and Josh are a great couple. They’re both the biggest sweethearts in the world and they have these funny and quirky personalities that are totally charming. I had actually met Kelsey a few years ago when I was working for my friend Lisa, who did her senior pictures. Lucky for me, Lisa doesn’t shoot weddings! So when they got engaged she sent them my way. So for their session we hit Philbrook and then ran over to a field for a different look. I think the shots we got suit them so well!

Can you believe their eyes?! They’re gonna have beautiful babies!

Little note about balloons: If you’re in a field of tall (sharp) grass, holding a bouquet of balloons, its a good idea to NOT do a jumping shot. As soon as Kels bent down to take a leap all but one of the balloons popped. Luckily we had got some fun pictures with them before they popped.

Wanda & Albert: Engaged – Tulsa Engagement Pictures

My state of blogging is dissmal right now. I have about 759 shoots that I would love to blog. Oh the pressure! Its killing me!! Wanda and Albert had a lot of great ideas for their engagement session so they decided to actually book 2 shoots. Wanda had in mind a lifestyle session, so we went to Utica Square and Woodward Park for the casual looks. For the second shoot, we went to a wine bar and hit downtown for a few as well. This couple is a hoot and I loved getting to shoot them. Wanda is a little hot tamale infront of the camera! Can’t wait for their July wedding!!They’re Starbucks junkies. Can ya blame them?This is my fave!! So cute! Don’t ya just love all the props she brought?!

I told ya… hot tamale!!

Jamie & Travis’ Vintage E-Session – Tulsa Wedding Photographer

I’ve been holding on to this engagement session for a bit and I’m so excited to finally get to show it off! Jamie and Travis are getting married tomorrow so I couldn’t wait another day! When Jamie approached me about this session I was immediately thrilled. I’ve actually wanted to do something like this for quite awhile, but when she told me I’d get to collaborate with the Von Lankens of Von Wedding Films I was ecstatic!! I even brought April (who doesn’t usually come to e-sessions) for her creative genius. I didn’t go into it thinking we’d go for a Mad Men type shoot, but I kinda think that’s how it turned out. It was a great day!! Here’s the results.

Kim & Jeff: Engaged – Tulsa Engagement Pictures

I’ve been kinda busy. I’ve been doing a lot of engagement and bridal sessions. I think my brain has reached its capacity. I can tell I’m getting old. Yes that’s it, I’m old. During their session, I called Jeff and Kim, Josh and Katy. Josh is a client so I can understand the mixup… but Katy… well Katy was the name of a dog that was in the park with us. So I called Kim by a dog’s name. Yeah… I may need to start getting a bit more sleep. Luckily Jeff and Kim have great senses of humor and we had a good laugh about it. We laughed about a lot actually. I’m really looking forward to their July wedding. If their friends and family are half as fun as they are, its gonna be a fantastic party!! Favorite! I think its so “them”!

Thanks for a great session Josh and Katy Jeff and Kim! Ya’ll are great!

Amanda & Adam’s E-session – Claremore Engagement Pictures

I really love this couple. They’re ridiculously cute!! I mean look at them! In fact at one point during their session when I was gushing about how cute they were Amanda’s mom said “I know!! Aren’t I going to have cute grandbabies???” haha! When Amanda approached me about a session at her parent’s farm in Claremore, I was all over that! Anytime I can do something a little out of the box I’m thrilled! Amanda and Adam are planning a Victorian style wedding at the farm in September. And I for one, am already planning out every picture! Golden delicious light. I may have gotten a bit carried away with the sun flare and back lighting on this session. This picture was taken very shortly before I bit it and basically fell into a creek. I tried my darndest to pull in Adam after me but he just wasn’t having it. I like to think I can be a country girl, but wearing flip flops to a farm probably proves that I’m not that person. I skinned and bruised the crap out of my leg but I was pretty proud of it! Am I the only freak that wears an injury like a badge of honor? Yes? Oh. Well then nevermind.
***Confession: I’m a bit clumsy. I fell down 9 times the night of my senior prom. Yep. 9 times. I’m not talking about tripping, I’m talking about falling like a tree in various restaurants, bowling alleys, ballrooms, and homes. (no I wasn’t drinking) I don’t embarrass easily, and I recommend folks laughing their butts off when I do fall. It makes it less awkward. Confession over.***I just wanted to give a little tip real quick (Sorry Mom, I mean “really quickly”). When I get asked, with every session, “What should we wear” My response is always “You don’t have to be matchy matchy but you want to stay in the same tonal ranges. Keep your darks with darks and your lights with lights” I think that can get a bit confusing though. This outfit/s that Amanda and Adam are wearing is the PERFECT example of keeping in the same tonal range. If you’re the type that isn’t into the matching outfit thing (some aren’t) just follow those guidelines. It makes for a much better pic!

Are you kidding me with this hottness?! Look at those eyes on that girl! Such a beauty!

Paige & Andrew are getting married! – Tulsa Wedding Photographer

Its pretty rare that I don’t meet my couples long before we ever do their engagement pictures. But with Paige and Andrew their session was the first time we met face to face. And the truth is… I love them!! They are both precious as can be! Paige is a little firecracker and is so much fun to be around. And the way Andrew looks at her will just melt your heart. We were blessed with LOVELY weather the day of their session and we ran around town having a ball!
2 very important things to note: 1) They wanted to personalize their session by doing something that was uniquely “them”. Claud’s Hamburgers on Brookside is a family tradtion for them, so we had to get a couple shots there. (Thank you Claud’s for being so accommodating!) 2) Paige wore awesome shoes with every outfit!!! Its a combination that can’t be beat. Can’t wait for the wedding!!

Oh and another thing… Paige has awesome legs!! I’m guessing she’s a runner perhaps…? (Paige, feel free to leave a comment and let us know your secret!)

***I will be out of the office from 3/11 – 3/15. Paddywack and I are going on a little get away. This will be our first non work/non family emergency get away in over a year and a half. Can’t wait!! If you desperately need me your best bet is going to be email, but I’m going to try my hardest to focus on spending quality time with my Lovey. Thanks for your understanding!!!***

Cassie & Rickey Engaged: Tulsa Wedding Photographer

Since Cassie and Rickey will be my first wedding of the season, and since I know Cassie’s fabulous mama, Teauna, is a faithful blog reader, I thought it was high time to post pictures from their e-session! I am so incredibly excited about this wedding! Its going to be unbelievable. (I just got a look at C’s dress last night… and holy crap! I can not wait for her bridal session)
Cassie and Rickey are a blast to photograph. They’re funny, nuts about eachother, and we all clicked right away. We wondered around downtown Tulsa for their session and ended up at McNellies. They met at a small town bar so we thought it was appropriate to do part of their session in a bar setting. ***Note to brides: Having trouble getting your groom to get in the mood for your engagement session? Bribe them with beer! Works every time!*** But seriously, I love it when a couple wants to make their engagement session unique to them.

Shannon & Chris’ Engagement Pictures: Tulsa, OK

Awhile back I went out with Shannon and Chris for their engagement session. I love this couple. They’re so much fun and they’re having this unbelievable wedding in April that I’m oh so excited about. This session actually took 2 tries because it was the kick off to the rainest two months of my career and it ended up clouding over so badly it was time to quit the session. But the 2nd try we had lovely sun so it was a hit! Chris actually came with a few ideas he had for the session that I was excited about. I love it when a couple really wants to make their session uniquely them. The results were great! Um… Loving it!!One of Chris’ ideas was to go up into the Philtowers and go out onto the fire escape. This required all 3 of us to climb through a window. I believe we were on the 8th floor. Kinda made me feel like an urban National Geographic photographer. I love a challenge.
