I seriously love fall. I get so busy with family portrait sessions because its Christmas card season!! And I love it!! Another great thing about fall is that I get to photograph bffs! And this is one of my oldest bffs. And by oldest I mean that I’ve known her for a long time, not that she’s an old woman. We met in our sophmore year in high school in biology class, and we’ve been friends ever since. Oh the stories we can tell about eachother!! From swing dancing to skiing and everything in between. But I’ll save you, besides, most the time its her and I cracking up at our own stories and everyone else mostly confused. This year she happened to give birth to one of the cutest, funniest little girls I’ve seen in awhile. Miss A has the best expressions and were absolutely cracking up through the session! I’m the unofficial Aunt Dre. Trust me, this kid has an abundance of actual aunts, so its a privelege to get to be an almost aunt to her.

This is my favorite I think!! Not sure why, I just really like it!!

Herberts… you know I love you guys!!

The Davis Family – Tulsa Family Pictures

Looking at these pictures makes me a little teary, and a lot sappy sentimental. I’m not sure where my 20’s have gone, but they’re mostly gone. And when I was in my early 20’s I met these 2 amazing people. When I met Paxton, he almost instantly became like a brother to me. About the same time I met Kat (at a salsa club nonetheless). Turns out we worked next door to eachother and the next morning she had someone deliver a chocolate chip cookie to me. We’ve been bff’s ever since. In no time Kat and Paxton were “just friends”, shortly after that they were dating, and before too long they were married. And then they had a ton of kids. Seriously, a ton. Kat was pregnant with #2 when she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. And #3 and #4 were a package deal not terribly long after that. ) So it just makes me so happy and sentimental to see what a gorgeous family they’ve created. I consider this family, my family. And I love them dearly. Crap. This picture seriously gets me every time!! The last time I photographed the Davis’ was 2 year ago and these kids were babies. In 2 more years Miss S (baby #1) will practically be a preteen. I just think this picture captures how innocent childhood is. Its becoming one of my fave shots I’ve ever taken. Yes its simple, it just speaks to me.

Baby J – Tulsa Newborn Photographer

Its always such an honor when a client from the past returns to me. I photographed this family when Tera (the mama) was pregnant with their daughter, and I also did the daughter’s newborn portraits. So when she called and told us she had baby #2 I was thrilled to get the opportunity to photograph him. He’s absolutely as cute as his older sister, he’s just a much better sleeper. Boy can this kid sleep! Once we got him to sleep I messed with him and shuffled him throughout their house, and outside the house, and he barely stirred. He’s absolutely adorable, oh and absolutely a little chunk! Love it!!

I love that they decided to do just a couple pictures of just them with their new baby. You’ll have years and years to take family pictures with all your kids, but so few want to take a picture of just them with their newest baby. Speaking as a second born (yes, I have major middle child syndrome) I think it would have been awesome to have a picture like this of just me and my parents. Just sayin’.
