Dawnette and Mike were recently married in Bartlesville. They had a lovely wedding steeped in sentiment, tradition, and beauty. These two have such a great story! They actually attended pre-school together in Bartlesville! It was many years later when they started dating and some discussion made them realize they had known each other at 4 years old. There’s even a class photo that exists that they’re both in. How cute is that?!
Their Irish themed wedding took place at her parent’s home that Dawnette built. They had a small ceremony at the home and went on to a large reception just up the road at Hillcrest Country Club. The Irish theme was woven throughout the day with small details. Dawnette had Mike’s family tartan made into vests for him and his son, they had a FANTASTIC bagpipe band, and a hand fasting ceremony as part of their wedding ceremony. The details are too many to describe so I’ll let the pictures do the work.

Dawnette is a former model and so stinking fun to photograph! She’s just gorgeous!!

They had 2 bagpipers escort Mike and his attendants in and they continued for the processional.

At Home Wedding Bartlesville
Each chair was draped with a pashmina scarf in case it got too cool. Luckily, they were blessed with incredible weather!
Fun fact: Those gorgeous columns on the house are from a 100 year old church in Iowa.

Handfasting Ceremony

I’m obsessed with her Lazaro gown!!!

Tulsa Bagpipe Band
The pipe band played in front of the country club while the guests arrived and then escorted the couple in for their grand entrance. I’ve seen hundreds of grand entrances; their’s was the grandest of them all! Every wedding should have a pipe band. 😉

cedar smudging wedding
This was a first to me, they had a Comanche Cedar Blessing during their reception. The gentleman, former Chairman of the Comanche Nation, blessed them with burning cedar while saying a prayer over them. It was very interesting to observe and I always love experiencing something new on a wedding day!

These two chose to do their bridal session after their wedding in order to do photos together. Pretty soon I’ll be able to show those off as well. Dawnette and Mike, congrats again!!
